A Gentlemen's Guide to Cuff Length (Jackets)

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

Imagine yourself at a wedding. Imagine yourself in a company photo. Where are your hands? Imagine yourself through out the course of the evening. Where are your hands? The answer, for most of us, is leisurely by our sides. For the majority of your time in a suit, this is where your hands will be naturally, and it is because of this that the "off the Cuff" standard exists.

To achieve a well tailored look, and to show off that peak of shirt cuff under your jacket, your jacket sleeve should end just off your wrist, leaving a 1/4 inch of shirt peaking out with your hands by your side and exposing your entire hand.

Checking your watch should be as effortless and simply raising your arm towards you.
